The installation ceremony marked more than a leadership transition it represented a renewed commitment to shaping forward-thinking, inclusive, and adaptive leadership in higher education, in step with the evolving global landscape.

During his address, Ambassador Awori underscored USIU-Africa’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and meaningful societal change.

He stressed the vital role of leadership, diversity, and hands-on learning in driving Africa’s progress.

Ambassador Awori described USIU-Africa as a truly pan-African institution a symbol of hope and a space where potential is nurtured, intellect is cultivated, and future leaders are molded.

He expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Chancellor, noting the university’s vibrant and diverse student population drawn from across the African continent.

He highlighted USIU-Africa’s role as a hub of talent, drive, and innovation.

Awori also recognized the contributions of the outgoing leadership, offering special praise to his predecessor, Dr. Manu Chandaria.

He lauded Dr. Chandaria’s pivotal role in advancing the institution, including founding the Chandaria School of Business and mentoring generations of students.

“His influence has been key in establishing USIU-Africa as a distinguished center for academic excellence,” Awori noted.

Ambassador Awori extended his congratulations to Professor Ntarangwi on his appointment, expressing strong belief in his ability to steer USIU-Africa toward even greater achievements.

“I am confident that under his leadership, the university will reach new milestones. Our shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and integrity will drive USIU-Africa forward,” he affirmed.

In his remarks, Professor Ntarangwi reiterated the institution’s core principles and stressed the crucial role of lifelong learning in navigating the complexities of today’s world.

“Embracing lifelong learning equips our students to stay flexible and receptive to emerging ideas, technologies, and approaches skills that are vital in a rapidly evolving global environment,” he said.

The new leadership underscored USIU-Africa’s strategic commitment to forward-looking disciplines, particularly Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
